Valentine's Ride 2012

For whom?
For all romantic souls looking for an unforgettable Valentine! This riding holiday can be made by intermediate (walking + rising trot) or advanced (walking + rising trotting + slow galloping) riders. As great care is taken of the selection of the horses according to each person's riding abilities and preference, we are convinced to match you up with the right horse for you...
Advanced riders will always be in a separate group as they also gallop outdoors. To put it shortly: all participants that are fit, congenial, horse-loving riders able to control a traffic-used horse in the outdoors are more than welcome.
Program:
Saturday 11th of February:
Arrival and transfer from the airport. Depending on the time of arrival a guided walk in the area is offered. Followed by welcome dinner.
Sunday 12th of February:
From the stables we head downhill to the beah for our first rendezvous with the long sandy beach of Georgioupoli. Completely empty, giving all opportunity for some amazing (slow) gallops. A real adrenaline rush! We then make our way up to Kastelos and ride through the almost abandoned village of Patima, to reach the greenery of Argiroupoli village, well known for its springs, ancient mills, avocados and associated products. There is plenty of time for a stroll in ancient Lappa or a visit to the local Museum of Village Life. This trail is an escape to ancient times during which plenty of variety is offered. In the evening we enjoy typical Cretan dishes in Argiroupoli where we spend the night.
Monday 13th of February:
Continuing on our trip, we ride through the village of Kato Poros which has been renovated in traditional style and the fun continues along dirt tracks through unspoiled countryside. Breathtakingly beautiful! This magnificent trail leads us over the village of Moundros to Aghios Vasilios, where we enjoy a traditional lunch. With our batteries recharged, we ride trough the hills, passing by picturesque little villages through fantastic landscapes till Gonia, where we spend the night.
Tuesday 14th of February:
This day offers a completely different scenario. Leaving from Gonia, we pass through new development and traditional villages till we reach the beach of Episcopi... And from here on ... the beach is all ours!
On a long sandy beach intoxicated by the smell of freedom, you will enjoy a dream-like harmony. Who told you you need wings to fly?
Afterwards we leave to the city of Chania to enjoy our Valentine dinner. Night is spent in the charming, old Venetian harbor of Chania.
Wednesday 15th of February:
This will be a bum-break day! Opportunity to sleep in or to discover Chania town.
Thursday 16th of February:
Around 10.30 we head back to the stables for our goodbye ride: the beautiful mini-safari to the green blue lake of Kournas. Its surrounding mountains are reflected in the lake and during this time of the year, this place will surely remind you of a deserted paradise. Perfect place to enjoy a hot chocolate while breathing the magic of this spot.
Friday 17th of February:
Packing of great memories & transfer to the airport. Depending on the time of departure free time in the city.
